Don't know whether this is Gary's last Test as coach: Dhoni

Speculations are rife that Kirsten may not seek an extension after World Cup in the sub-continent next month.

"I wanted to Gary to do this press conference but he has gone back home. He is getting old! We have had some fantastic times with him. I don’t know if this is his last Test as India coach but every member loves him and acknowledges and respects the amount of time he has devoted," Dhoni said about former South African opener.

The Indian captain feels that Kirsten deserves all the more respect as he had no idea about Indian cricket."He was one guy who didn't know much about Indian cricket so far as dressing room is concerned. Most of them have that aura. Very difficult to come with a fixed set-up. He came in with no plans, he came to see what individuals do and made plan which worked for us." he added.

Coaching India is considered as one of the toughest assignments in world cricket and Dhoni feels that Kirsten performed his duties with ease.

"We we were very free under him. Most of the credit should go to him also. Media glare was there. Kirsten is one of the great things that really happened to Indian cricket."
