Lakhs of people are expected to participate in the conference. It will be held on February, 4, 5 and 6 at the National College Grounds, Basavanagudi. “Kannada Sahitya Sammelana has returned to Bangalore after 40 years and it is the duty of every Kannadiga to contribute to the success of the conference,” he said.

MP Ananth Kumar said that there was a need to create an atmosphere for the development of and research in Kannada.

“This year’s conference must break all barriers and must reach out to people beyond boundaries. Besides the State government, Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) and Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) should also bear the cost of the conference,” he said.
