Reacting to BJP leaders’ statement on filing a defamation case against the Governor, Siddaramaiah said Bhardwaj’s “ulta chor kotwal ko daante” comment was his reaction to the developments. “When he has not called anybody a thief, where is the question of filing a defamation case,” he asked.|

He also took exception to Chief Minister skipping the High Tea hosted by the Governor. “The Chief Minister and other representatives of the government taking part in the High Tea hosted by the Governor is part of the tradition. Yeddyurappa has set a bad precedent by not attending it”, he said.
