At a press conference here on Friday, KPCC president G Parameshwara said the rally is a continuation of the party’s march from Bangalore to Bellary in August 2010 against illegal mining.

He further said party workers and those who oppose the corrupt rule of the BJP would attend the rally. The party is expecting at least one lakh people to turn up at the rally. He also demanded the chief minister release a White Paper on the position of the State exchequer before presenting the budget of 2011-12.

Reacting to reports of Bangalore Mayor demanding transfer of BBMP Commissioner Siddaiah, he said the party would stand by prompt and efficient officers. BJP leaders were making efforts to transfer the officer who suspended 22 officers, allegedly involved in misappropriation of funds.
