Four students kill friend over money dispute in Latur

The deceased, Suraj Ram Gaikwad, was a Class IX student. His friend Yogesh Piple, studying in a local college, accompanied by Kishor Datar, Balaji Barkate and Vilas Adawade, took him to a nearby `dhaba' (roadside eatery) last evening.

They had their dinner together and after that they forced Suraj to accompany them to Navkund Zhari village, where they strangled him and stuffed his body in a sack and threw it in a lake, they said.

Yogesh and Suraj were having some dispute over money, the sources said. Though the accused are juvenile, they are also involved in other crimes like stealing bikes, they said.

Police have recovered the body and sent it for post mortem, said Inspector Gopal Ranjankar.
