The body of the girl, a Class II student, was found in the drain at Sector V of Dwarka, Sharad Aggarwal, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-West), said. The girl was missing since February 19 evening and the police have registered a case of kidnapping after her father approached the police complaining that she had not returned home from her tuition class.

The girl resided in Bindapur area and her father is in welding business. "There were no injury marks on her body. We are waiting for the post-mortem report to ascertain the exact cause of death," Aggarwal said.

Prima facie, a senior police official said, it appeared that she was not sexually assaulted as there were no injury marks on her body and her clothes were found intact. "Also, her bag was on her shoulders. It does not appear that she was attacked. It could be accidental. However, we are not rushing to any conclusion. We are waiting for the post-mortem report," the official said.

He said they were investigating all angles. A teenaged girl was found murdered in south-west Delhi's Dwarka Sector 14 on January one.
