'Setting up cyber bench in City is crucial'

He was speaking at the inauguration of the second Bangalore Cyber Security Summit at Nimhans Convention Centre, on Thursday.

“Even for small cyber thefts, people from south India have to travel to New Delhi to seek justice. This can be avoided if the Bench of the Cyber Appellate Tribunal is set up in Bangalore,” said Tandon.

Angered by lack of efforts on the part of the  police in the City and those across the country in tackling cyber crime, Tandon said the issue was treated lightly.

Moreover, the chairman of the cyber law appellate tribunal asked the people to exercise greater restraint while handing out passwords and usernames to others, in case of financial matters.
