4 arrested for murder bid

The suspects, Raghavendra (28) from Hoskerehalli, Chandrashekhar (38), Shankar (31) from Banashankari and Harish (21) from K G Nagar were arrested near Jinke Park in K G Nagar. The police recovered lethal weapons from them.

Police said Kodanda, an accused in two murders in Thyagarajnagar, was in Central Prisons, Parappana Agrahara. He allegedly gave ‘supari’ to suspects to eliminate his rival gang members Ranganath, Pradeep and a corporator.

He had promised them to pay Rs five lakh and a car if they successfully executed the
murders. He had made an advance payment of Rs 5,000, the police said.

Woman ends life

A 20-year-old homemaker committed suicide by setting herself ablaze allegedly due to dowry harassment at K B Sandra in DJ Halli police limits on Friday night.

Heena was married to Mohammad Taufique a year ago. The police have arrested Taufique. Taufique had stopped working after the wedding and allegedly harassed Heena to bring more dowry.

The couple used to quarrel frequently over the issue. On Friday night, she set herself on fire. She was rushed to Victoria Hospital where she died, police added.

Youth dies after fall

A youth died on the spot after he had an accidental fall from a moving tractor at Challakere in Banaswadi on Saturday morning.

Srinath (18) from Kalyan Nagar was employed to lift soil and load the same in the tractor.

He loaded the tractor with the mud and was sitting on it. He fell down, sustained severe head injuries and was killed when the driver took a turn on 80 ft road in Kalyan Nagar. The driver is absconding, said the police.
