All set for Sammelan

For the first time, a woman is being elected as the president of the sammelan. The main stage of the sammelan venue has been named after Kodandera Bopaiah.

Moornadu Gram Panchayat President Meenakshi will hoist the flag at 10 am. The main entrance will be inaugurated by Welcome committee general secretary Bellusomaiah, G T Narayanarao book stall will be inaugurated by Kiggalu Harish.

Kodandera Bopaiah mantapa will be inaugurated by Moornadu Gram Panchayat former president B K Poovappa, Kodagu Gowramma Vedike will be inaugurated by Zilla Panchayat former president Deerghakeshi Shivanna.  The sammelan president will be taken out in a procession to the venue at 2.30 pm. The procession will be started from Balamuri road.

The procession will be inaugurated by ZP member Kaddi H Sundar. Various teams will add colours to the procession.

The sammelan will be inaugurated by Assembly Speaker K G Bopaiah. Arameri Kalancheri Mutt seer Shanthamallikarjuna Swamiji will bless the occasion. Kannada Sahithya Parishat President Dr R K Nallur Prasad will release a souvenir on the occasion.

‘Kodagina shathamanada kavya’ by Dr Kavitha Rai will be released by ZP President SHantheyanda Ravikushalappa. A collection of poems ‘Nage holige’ by Girish Kiggalu will be released by MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik. Cultural programmes will also be held.
