Last Updated 07 April 2011, 13:47 IST

KXIP team, which is currently being trained by Bevan, is all determined to play some great cricket this season and is also looking to break even.

"We have put together a strong team this season with some of the best cricketers in the world. At the helm we have the experienced captain Adam Gilchrist who would infuse right fervor and guide the team to play some great cricket in the upcoming season," said Bevan.

"I can just say that my boys are enthused to put the right foot forward and play some great cricket," he added.

But the Chief Operating Office of KXIP, Col Arvinder Singh, who was also present, gave no definite timeframe when the franchise would reach break even.

When asked to comment on how much losses the franchise had suffered during last three IPL seasons, Singh said in the year 2008 during IPL I, the company reported loss of Rs 25 crore, which reduced to Rs 23.80 crore in 2009, but he refused to elaborate on it further.

He, however, said the franchise was expecting a 20 per cent increase in revenue from sponsors this season as compared to last season.

In the previous edition, it earned a revenue of Rs 25 crore from sponsorships. The team, has renewed as well as forged new partnerships for the upcoming season.

This time the team has 11 sponsors on board out of which six had already been there.

He also claimed that the fan following was also high this time as 50 per cent of the tickets had already been sold for the first game to be held here on April 13.

Co-owners of the franchisee Ness Wadia and Bollywood actress Priety Zinta, who were expected to come, could not make it to the event today, where the team shared its plans for the April 8-May 28 tournament.

Meanwhile skipper Gilchrist said the new team would look at playing as a unit.

"Kings XI Punjab has a new look but we will endeavor to play as one team where each player complements the other. The squad has great talent and with new renewed energy and teamwork we are determined to aim for a successful season.

"As always we cherish the unrelenting support and love of all our fans and assure them of our best efforts on the field," said Gilchrist.
