Priyadarshan to direct film on maneating tigers

The director has a series of successful comedies like 'Hera Pheri', 'Halchal' and 'Bhul Bhulaiyya' to his credit.

The film titled 'Grrr..' will be produced under the Percept Picture Company's newly launched banner "PPC Horrorotainment"

The film will be made at a cost of Rs 25 crore and go on floors in May-June next year, said Naveen Shah, CEO of PPC.

Apart from 'Grrr...' PPC has invested Rs 250 crore to produce 10 films in the horror and thriller genre in the next three years.

Shah said that the rest of the projects are in scripting stages. "Each film will be made at a budget of Rs 8-10 crore," he said.

The company has also announced its next horror film '8' starring Sameer Datani and newcomer Sheena Nayar, which will go on floors this week.

"Horror as a genre is about large concepts and the treatment. PPC in the past has offered some brilliant entertainment and raised the bar of quality with every release," Shah said.

PPC's other projects are Madhur Bhandarkar's 'Jail' is releasing October 23, 'Raftar' starring Emraan Hashmi is slated for November and Priyandarshan's 'Bam Bam Bole' will release in December.
