Last Updated 13 April 2011, 19:21 IST

On Wednesday, COMED-K Executive Secretary Dr S Kumar said that students choosing a seat, and who have already taken a seat in Rajiv Gandhi University, or All India counselling, or at any deemed university, will have to file an affidavit to the effect that he/she will surrender that seat.

The student will have to produce a surrender certificate along with all the originals on or before 4 pm of April 19 at the COMED-K office. On failing to do so, the provisionally allotted seat will get automatically cancelled and will be added to the pool of seats to be offered in the next round of counselling by COMED-K.

Revised seat matrix

Dr Kumar also stated that a revised seat matrix conforming to the quota of 33 pc, 42 pc, and 25 pc for state government, COMED-K and NRI/Institutional preference has been notified.

“While working out the revised matrix, every effort has been ensured to maintain the said percentage in Pre-clinical, para-clinical, and clinical subjects, and to the best extent in individual subjects for each of the member institutions”, he said.

COMED-K has also said that all details of candidates will be sent to RGUHS, Medical education department, and the Medical Council of India. If any substitution of seats at the college level, is brought to the notice of COMED-K, then COMED-K will take up this issue with the above statutory regulatory authorities.

A mechanism of strict scrutiny of the original documents brought in by the candidate will be implemented, said Kumar. He also also said that details of additional fee charged by various member institutions are being procured from the respective colleges and will be notified on the website.
