Antony told reporters on the sidelines of an Army Hospital Day function that the End User Monitoring Agreement (EUMA) would take care of all concerns, and that External Affairs Minister S M Krishna had already clarified the matter in Parliament.
Almost the entire Opposition was critical of the UPA government’s move to sign EUMA with the United States, which would permit inspection of defence equipment acquired from that country.
When asked about the indigenously developed nuclear-powered submarine’s sea trials in Vizag, the defence minister said: “The advanced technology vessel is happening. It is a reality now.”
