'Suvarna Bhoomi to benefit 16,750 farmers

 Speaking to media persons here on Tuesday, ADC T M Prabhakar informed that as per the provisions of the programme, the farmers who own maximum 2 acres of ‘Kumki’ farm land will be eligible for the benefits. A sum of Rs 10,000 will be given away in two installments through banks and cooperative societies. There are as many 1,79,325 small land holders in the district, he added.

The fund can be utilised to grow horticulture cultivations, organic fuel, agricultural products, silk farming, honey cultivation, fishing, organic farming and so on.

The last date to fill the applications is on April 24 and applications are available at ‘Raitha Samparka Kendra’.

Applications should be filled at hobli-level and sent to nearby Raitha Samparka Kendra.
The applicant should own the RTC of the land in his name. If the farmer owns one acre of agriculture land, he will be entitled to only Rs 5,000. The ratio of the fund is estimated as per the availability of the land. Women applicants are given priority, Prabhakar informed.
