Importance of English stressed

Speaking at a lecture programme organised by the Literary Club of the English Department at Government First Grade College here, he said the 17th century classic was even today.

He explained the importance of learning English language and its usage everyday which in turn helps in getting rid of fear and shyness among the students. College Principal Prof V Krishnappa, who spoke on the occasion, said students should understand the principles of life through their subjects during their student’s life itself. He also quoted the end of tragic story ‘Macbeth’, which gives several warnings to humans. Prof M Kusuma, Prof Sulochana, Prof Nagendranath Giri, Prof Mahabaleshwar and others were present.
