<p>The blood donation camp organised by Barke Police Station, Bharath Scouts and Guides and NCC Cadets evoked a good response with many students coming forth to donate their blood.<br /><br />After inaugurating the programme, Bharath Scouts and Guides District President I A Kairanna told Deccan Herald that donating blood is a very good initiative as it saves life. <br />One should spread the message and publicise the initiative, he said.</p>.<p>SI Shivprakash of Barke Police Station had come with a team of cops who wanted to donate blood. <br /><br />“We want to save lives in every way possible and donating blood is a wonderful way,” he said.<br /><br />A first time donor Preetesh said he was scared to donate but now he feels a sense of satisfaction that he has contributed to the society and he too can save a life.<br /><br />Organiser of the programme Ganesh Kudva who was on a mission to get as many people to donate blood with his door-to-door campaign said that many youth have come forward though there is a poor response from the houses he had gone knocking asking for blood. <br /><br />“Many people have encouraged with words, but we want blood,” he said and added that very soon he is going to start a eye donation campaign. <br /><br />As many as 35 bottles of blood was collected during the camp.</p>
