DYFI, KPRS to stage stir on April 26

Informing the same to the media persons, KPRS District President K R Shriyan said, one of the major demands of the protesters is the disposing of all housing site related pending application forms. As many as 7,000 applications through DYFI have been submitted by the public seeking for the site and nearly 4,000 application forms have been submitted through KPRS. The rest of the applications will be submitted to the DC on the day of the protest. If the district administration readily gives hundreds of acres of land to the builders and industrialists, they why can’t they give required land to the poor needy? he asked.

The protesters will urge the administration to provide title deeds to all the poor landless families.

“There are 48,000 landless families and 17,000 families without title deeds in the district. The State government in its election manifesto had announced of providing houses to two lakh homeless families in the State. Keep aside 2 lakh houses, the government has not even provided homes to the flood victims,” he alleged.

Informing about the other demands, DYFI District Secretary said, the protesters would urge for the implementation of House Rent Regulation Act, formation of taluk-wise Akrama Sakrama Darkhastu Committee, protecting the Kmuki land rights of the farmers among others. Nearly 10,000 farmers will take part in the protest. The protest rally will be held from
Town Hall, he said.
