Also, foul smell emanates from the kitchen as sewage water flows near the kitchen, they added. <br /><br />They refused to eat the food prepared on Friday instead protested keeping the food in front of them. The protesters said that dish has been prepared with sub-standard rice. “The leftover food is given to a pig farm situated nearby,” the agitators complained. <br /><br />The students further complained that the authorities concerned neither visit the hostel nor listen to our grievances. The police tried to pacify the agitating students but in vain. <br />Since the traffic was completely blocked, the protesters later agreed to protest in front of the Social Welfare Department. Hostel supervisor Ashwathappa who visited the protesters, said that “There was a problem in the food today. However, we will provide good quality of food, henceforth.” Later, the students withdrew the protest.</p>
