The card must for registration of vehicles, procuring driving licence

A circular has been sent to all the government offices to insist on mentioning the UID numbers on applications submitted by the general public to avail schemes.  This follows the order of the principal secretary of e-governance.

In a meeting held on Saturday, the deputy commissioner , said so far, 16.70 lakh have enrolled for the card and the registration will end in June.

Following complaints from citizens and elected representatives over misuse of government schemes, the district administration is toying with the idea of making the UID or identity cards issued at the time of registration of vehicles mandatory.
