Informing the same to media persons, Programme Convenor P B D’Sa said, as many as 60 leaders from Mangalore, Bangalore and Mumbai will assemble together to discusses certain issues on the Church. Criticising the parishes, he said that as many as 160 churches which come under Mangalore diocese are making a great profit in the name of God, not less than Rs 25 lakh a year.

“Despite the government allotting cemeteries to the churches for free of cost, with the condition that they should not trade, sell or lease out the land, the grave is sold for Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2 lakh each. No receipt is issued and it is all unaccounted money,” he said.

Meanwhile, he informed that the conclave intends to bring into limelight the misappropriations that are taking place in the parishes in the name of God. Our objective is not to defame the priests, but we want to expose the reality and bring awareness in the people, D’Sa said.

The keynote address will be delivered by Justice M F Saldhanha. Dr Joe A Lewis will speak on “Remedies and alternatives before us,” while KPSC former member Prof John B Cutinho and Prof Trevor Devas too deliver the talk.
