Gayathri in record form on final day

Gayathri’s 12.87M effort in the girls’ triple jump was the highlight of the last day.

Haryana boys won two more gold while Kerala girls got one. Parveen Kumar fetched the first gold medal for Haryana by winning the boys’ 400M in 49.56 seconds before the boys’ 4X100M relay team added another by clocking 42.59S.

For Kerala, Aswathi Mohanan won gold in the 400M race with a timing of 56.64secs.
Haryana bagged 13 medals (6 gold, 5 silver and 2 bronze) to win the boys’ championships while Delhi were runners-up with four medals.

Kerala won 17 medals (5 gold, 5 silver, 7 bronze) to bag the girls’ championships while Tamil Nadu were second with eight medals.

P Kesavaamani of Tamil Nadu was declared the best athlete among boys while Gayathri was adjudged the best athlete among girls.

The lone national record broken was by Haryana hammer thrower Seema Jakhar.
