40 from State clear UPSC

At least 40 from the State (out of a total of 920 candidates at the all-India level) have cleared the examination.

Sindhu B from Mysore bagged the 17th rank and Deepa S Mudhol secured the 30th rank. Deepa had cleared the IPS last year and is undergoing training at the National Police Academy, Hyderabad. Both Deepa and Sindhu are certain to get slots in the IAS.

Of the 40 candidates, three are likely to get into the IAS while at least six will make it to the IPS, sources said.

Last year, a total of 32 from Karnataka had cleared the exams. The cadre allotment will be done in two days, said the UPSC on Wednesday.
