“Loans have been disbursed for vocational training, widow marriage and such other noble causes. The repayment of loans is also well on schedule. Mulbagal taluk leads the repayment” disclosed Women and Child Welfare Department officer S V Vijaya.

He was speaking at a workshop on facilities available under community-based tank management scheme organised by Watershed Department here, recently.

Assistant Executive Engineer Ramachandregowda said that afforestation, agriculture, pisciulture and other income-generating activities would be promoted under Jalasamvardhane scheme.

Workshops

 He emphasised that given the involvement of various departments in execution of the scheme, workshops to enlighten the beneficiaries had become necessary.

Animal Husbandry department officer Dr Jayaram,  officer of Watershed Development department Raghunatha Reddy,  Agricultural Produces Marketing Committee officer Nagaraj, enlightened the participants on various topics.

Assistant Director of Fisheries, D Shivashankar inaugurated the workshop.
