Jaya to stake claim today
Chennai:  AIADMK chief Jayalalitha will call on Governor S  S Barnala on Sunday and stake claim to form the government in Tamil Nadu.

“I am meeting the governor tomorrow (to stake claim for forming the government),” she told reporters here a day after AIADMK scripted a spectacular comeback securing an
absolute majority on its own with a tally of 150 seats in the 234-member Assembly.
Jayalalitha, set to become chief minister for the third time after a resounding victory over arch-rival DMK, told reporters here that details about her swearing-in ceremony would be announced on Sunday after her meeting with
Ba­rnala.

Cong to pick Kerala CM 

Thiruvananthapuram, DHNS: With the UDF victory in the assembly polls, the Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) will meet here on Sunday to decide the next chief minister. AICC secretary in charge of Kerala Madhusoodan Mistry and Congress Working Committee member Mohsina Kidwai are slated to arrive here on Sunday to attend the CPP meeting. Former chief minister Oommen Chandy, who led the UDF as the Opposition leader in the state Assembly in the last five years, is the front-runner for the top post. Indications fr­om the Congress camp are that the new chief minister would take oath by Monday. V S Ac­h­uthanandan resigned as Kerala chief minister on Saturday.

Mamata to address MLAs

Kolkata: Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee will address her first official meeting with the newly elected legislators of her party on Sunday, two days after a landslide victory in the Assembly elections. “Mamata Banerjee will address a first official meeting with the newly elected le­gislators of our party tomorrow (Sunday) at 4 pm. The meeting will be held at Maharashtra Niwas,” senior Trinamool Congress leader Mukul Roy told reporters.

The Trinamool and Congress alliance on Friday decimated the 34-year-old Left Front government with a landslide victory. The TC has invited the Congress to join the government.
