Rajnikant in ICU to avoid visitors

The  film star with a mass following continues to be in the ‘intensive care unit’ (ICU) of Sri Ramachandra Medical Center (SRMC), a private hospital here.  Seeking to ally apprehensions about Rajnikant’s health the hospital in a statement said here that he had been kept in the ICU only “to restrict visitors and avoid infections”.

“Thorough investigations and appropriate treatment (including some dialysis) made him comfortable and his vital parameters have returned to normal,” the  SRMC hospital statement said.

Rajnikant was admitted to SRMC on May 13 with “fever and fluid retention following acute gastro-intestinal and respiratory problems”. He had not been keeping well since April-end.
