<p>The film star with a mass following continues to be in the ‘intensive care unit’ (ICU) of Sri Ramachandra Medical Center (SRMC), a private hospital here. Seeking to ally apprehensions about Rajnikant’s health the hospital in a statement said here that he had been kept in the ICU only “to restrict visitors and avoid infections”.<br /><br />“Thorough investigations and appropriate treatment (including some dialysis) made him comfortable and his vital parameters have returned to normal,” the SRMC hospital statement said. <br /><br />Rajnikant was admitted to SRMC on May 13 with “fever and fluid retention following acute gastro-intestinal and respiratory problems”. He had not been keeping well since April-end.</p>
