Hundreds of party workers and leaders, including Excise Minister M P Renukacharya, gathered in front of Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa’s residence on Race Course Road to partake in the celebration.
They burst crackers and distributed sweets. The party workers raised slogans against the Governor and demanded his immediate resignation.
The Centre’s decision has come as a gift to the BJP Government in the State, which will complete three years on May 30.
The party had already chalked out a plan to commemorate three years of BJP rule.
