JD(S) to launch state-wide campaign

It has also distanced itself from the Congress for betraying it by rejecting Governor H R Bhardwaj’s report on imposing President’s Rule in the State.

Addressing reporters, party leader Basanagouda Patil Yatnal said the party will conduct a State-wide public campaign against the misrule of BJP in the State and the Congress at the Centre in June.

A meeting of all district presidents and senior leaders has been convened on May 26 in Bangalore to chalk out a plan for the campaign. “We will distance ourselves from both the BJP and the Congress. These parties are two sides of the same coin. JD(S) will educate people about it,” Yatnal said.

The JD(S) has been seeing red at the Congress ever since the Centre rejected the Governor’s report. Both party Supremo H D Deve Gowda and State president H D Kumaraswamy had tried really hard to convince the Congress to dismiss the BJP government led by Yeddyurappa.
