Here is your chance to run to save earth

Interested may participate in the event, by enrolling their names on or before June 1. The marathon will kick off on the day at 7 am.

According to a release issued by the organisers, the venue was chosen for its vast tract of lands being cultivated of tobacco. To conserve the  produce, the growers cut 40 lakh tonnes of wood as fire wood annually. Also, the forests here are being exploited mercilessly by those involved in timber business. The underground water level is also depleting, moreover emitting polluted water if it’s available. The wild animals in the forests here are also prone to danger. Taking all these into cognisance, the town was zeroed in on, to create awareness on the burning issue, the release added.
