On a musical high

The discs were given to mark the sale of  75,000 CDs. The event saw the presence of director Prem, actors Shivarajakumar and Ravi Shankar, music director V Harkrishna and producer Rakshita.

Krishnaprasad of Ashwini Media Networks, who has bought the audio rights of Jogaiah, was happy with the brisk business.

“The audio CDs are selling like hotcakes. We have sold  more than a lakh CDs within five days and the demand is ever increasing. The songs are so popular that we are getting orders from Bijapur, Bidar, Gulbarga and other parts of Karnataka after a long period of time,” informed Krishna Prasad.

V Harikrishna felt that his efforts haven’t gone in vain. “The music of the film is a gift to Shivarajakumar on his 100th film,” he said. Agreeing with that, Shivarajakumar said that the grand sale of the audio CDs is the best gift for him on his 25th wedding anniversary. “I cannot ask anything more than this. The music is so popular that CDs are in great demand, breaking all the records. This has proved that if the music is good, people will definitely go for it. By giving great tunes, V Harikrishna has proved himself. Now, it’s Prem’s and my turn to prove ourselves,” he said.

Director Prem was elated after the success of the songs of his first home-banner film. “I was worried about piracy before launching the audio. In order to curb this illegal activity, we have come out with CDs which cannot be pirated. The songs Somvara Shanivara and Thaglakkonde are quite popular. The title and Odale, the opening song, will be in 3D,” he said.

He added that the expenditure on the songs are four times bigger than the budget of any Kannada film. Prem, who is always known for gimmicks, said he is holding a music release ceremony again in July.

The music launch of Jogaiah’was held on May 19 by Puneeth Rajkumar, Rakshita and Shivarajkumar at three music stores in Jayanagar, Malleswaram and K R Market.
The movie has eight songs, all penned by Prem. The film is slated for release on August 12 on Varamahalakshmi day.
