Secretary of the Association Kasturi said that the Government had not paid the allowance for several workers and helpers who retired in the last three months.
“The State government had promised to pay Rs 50,000 and Rs 30,000 as allowance for workers and helpers, respectively, at the time of their retirement. But the money has not been paid yet. Some of us have not been paid salary for the last three months,” she alleged.
The Association submitted a list of demands to the Department of Women and Child Development and threatened to stage an overnight protest, if their demands were not fulfilled.
