Uma Devi rallies to dethrone Chitra in thrilling title clash

Uma, who had won the title in 2007, overcame a mid-game slump to emerge a 3-2 winner.
After pocketing the first frame rather easily 76-12, Uma loosen her grip as Chitra bounced back to win the next two frames. Despite a break of 38, Uma lost the second frame 56-77 and then put up an improved performance before losing a tight third at 72-77.

Just when Chitra appeared to have the title within grasp, Uma regrouped in time to run away with the game, winning the next two frames breaking little sweat. A break of 33 helped her win the fourth frame 75-18 while she claimed the deciding frame even more comfortably 76-4, riding on break of 37.
