Rains result in serial accidents in Udupi, DK

The rains resulted in several mishaps across the district. Highest number of accidents were reported between Padubidri and Kaup. A car-bike collision, car-bus collision, truck-truck collision and a car which was following the truck too hit the truck. Though the car driver applied brakes, the slippery road proved costly for the car. The number of accidents reduced after the rains subsided. Oil spill on the road is said to be the reason for most of the mishaps. Several minor accidents have occurred in Nelyadi area too.

Injured woman dies

Kusuma (27), who was admitted to a hospital after she was knocked down by a tipper on Thursday, succumbed to the injuries. A resident of Moodushedde, she was walking towards her home, when the tipper knocked her down.
