Last Updated 30 July 2009, 18:13 IST

Interestingly, Premjith himself consulted the doctors as he suspected symptoms of swine flu. Immediately, his swab samples were sent to KMC in Manipal. The KMC in turn, sent the same to National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD) at New Delhi for further tests.
Speaking to Deccan Herald, District Health Officer Dr Jagannath said that he received a telephone call from NICD on Thursday that it is a border-line case. “The tests have neither proved positive nor negetive,” he said and added that Dr Premjith has not been quarantined as per the suggestions of NICD authorities. However, Dr Premjith has been admitted at Fr Muller’s Hospital in Mangalore.

A detailed report is expected on Friday, Dr Jagannath added.
It may be recalled that a suspected case of swine flu was reported in Mangalore a couple of weeks ago. However, the tests proved negative later.
