Chains worth Rs 45k snatched

In the first case, Kamakshamma wife of late Shivarama Shastri was returning home on foot, when a youth tried to stop her on the pretext of asking an address, near Ramakrishna Nagar ‘H’ block around 3.45 pm.

The woman ignored and moved ahead. In no time, the youth yanked off the chain from the rear. However, the woman resisted by holding the chain back and also succeeded in retaining a portion of the chain.

In another incident that occurred around 4.45 pm, a teacher was relieved of her chain worth Rs 25,000. Mony Sunny wife of P I Sunny, of Lokanayak Nagar is the victim. A teacher at Lion’s School, in Gokulam she was walking towards the bus stop, when the incident occurred near fourth main.
