In the first incident, a 40-year-old person committed suicide by hanging himself at his house in Nandini Layout on Thursday. Pavan, an auto driver by profession and a resident of Vijayanandnagar, took the extreme step as he was in debt.

According to the police, Pavan returned home in the evening and went away after drinking a cup of coffee. His wife grew suspicious as he did not return home even after 9 pm.

Later, she was shocked to see Pavan’s body hanging in the store room. He had hanged himself using his wife’s saree. This was his fourth suicide attempt.

In another incident in Rajgopalnagar, an auto driver hanged himself with a dupatta on Thursday. The deceased, Manjunath (28), had trouble with his finances. The incident came to light when his wife, a garment factory worker, returned home in the evening. The couple have no children.

In the third incident, a 25-year-old home maker, who was hospitalised after a suicide attempt, succumbed at a private hospital on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Asha, a resident of Sakamma Gardens near South End Circle. In a suicide note, Asha has blamed Lokesh, her husband Gopinath’s business partner,  for her decision.

She could no longer bear physical and mental torture given by Lokesh, who used to insult her in front of everyone. Lokesh and Gopinath were into mineral water business. The police have arrested Lokesh.

In another incident, an unidentified person, aged around 35, committed suicide by jumping in front of a running train on Friday morning at Doddanekkundi near Byappanahalli railway station.
