<p>Mayawati was in Hyderabad on a days visit for her party’s meeting While addressing a training program organized for the BSP workers in Andhra Pradesh the Dalit leader said her party fully supported the demand for separate state of Telangana. <br /><br />Participating in the training program for the party workers in a function hall in L B Nagar here, Mayawati declared that her party MPs would vote in favour of Telangana whenever a Bill is introduced in both the houses of Parliament. <br /><br />The Uttar Pradesh chief minister said her party was in favour of smaller states which provided a healthy environment for rapid development. <br /><br />Contending that a Dalit should be made chief minister of Telangana, Mayawati said the BSP <br />would also contest assembly elections in Telangana. <br /><br />“Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar too supported the cause of smaller states for administrative efficiency,” Mayawati announced.<br /><br />Mayawati has already created ripples by demanding separate Bundelkhand and western Uttar Pradesh states on the lines of Telangana. “I have renewed the demand for smaller states through a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to give consent to Uttar Pradesh as it has given to Andhra Pradesh in December 2009 for setting up a separate Telangana state,” Mayawati added.</p>
