Gourab Ray (22) from Kolkata was studying in second semester and staying at the college hostel in Mathikere.
According to Yeshwanthpur police the preliminary investigation has revealed that Gourab died due to cardiac arrest. Doctors at the hospital have also confirmed that it is not a case of suicide. However, we are waiting for the autopsy report to know the exact reason for his death, said a police officer.
Gourab was staying with his room mates Koushik and Tuhir. All the three had lunch in the hostel. Koushik and Tuhir went out while Gourab went to his room as he wanted to rest.
Koushik and Tuhir returned to the room after sometime. There was no response from inside the room when they knocked the door. They alerted the hostel authorities and through a ventilator found Gourab lying motionless on the cot.
They broke open the door and shifted him to the hospital where the doctors declared him dead on arrival, added the police.
