The stored pieces, weighing about 5.1 tonne and 13 gas cylinders and 3 gas cutting equipment too have been seized. However, the miscreants are absconding.

According to the police, the metal part (between plates) were cut into pieces so that it could be transported easily. Speaking to Deccan Herald, police said that they had to engage 8 daily wage labourers to move the illegally stored metal pieces.

It may be recalled that six huge metal parts were found on the shores of Ucchhila after the Asian Forest sank. At the same time, it may also be recalled that the Deputy Commissioner in-charge had warned members of the public not to touch any spare part belonging to the sunken ship.
