VVIP security for investigating officers

The governor had summoned Home Minister R Ashoka to Raj Bhavan on Friday evening and had directed him to provide security at the residences of all officers involved in completing the investigation.

Bangalore City Police Commissioner B G Jyothiprakash Mirji and Additional Commissioner of Police (Law & Order) T Sunil Kumar met Lokayukta N Santosh Hegde on Saturday morning and discussed the issue. The commissioner assured Hegde of providing full security.

The responsibility of providing security to the officers and the Lokayukta will be assigned to the VVIP security wing of the Bangalore City police and an order is likely to be issued on Sunday evening.

Security will be provided to Chief Conservator of Forests Dr U V Singh, Deputy Conservators of Forests Biswajith Mishra, Vipin Singh, R Uday Kumar, and Assistant Conservator of Forest of Karwar Takath Singh Ranawath.

The police deputed officers to provide security at the residence of Dr U V Singh, who is heading the investigating team, since Friday midnight. The police has also decided to increase the security provided to Justice Hegde.
