But there is one tiny shop in N R Colony that stands out from the other eateries with its novel menu, which otherwise is not found in the surrounding areas. This place, called Bugle Bites, was started by Prakash, a young entrepreneur, with the help of his father. It offers authentic North Indian snacks and chaats along with vegetable splashes and fruitisers (vegetable juices and fruit juices) for the health-conscious people.

Running the business in the initial days was very difficult for this father and son duo as people were not used to the dishes they served. As the area bustles with South Indian restaurants and dosa corners, people took time to understand the difference between Bugle Bites and other traditional eateries. “Now, people have been exploring the fruitisers, vegetable splashes and munchies (an item similar to a starter) we serve. We are thinking of introducing some more items in our stall,” says Prakash’s father Sringeshwar, who oversees the business most of the time on his son’s behalf.

The place opens at 10.30 in the morning and closes at 10 in the night. It offers a range of fruitisers like ginger lime, pepper lime, kokam and musk melon. The vegetable splashes include carrot, tomato and cucumber Juice. The snacks and chaats available are samosa, kachori, papdi chaat, dahiwalla and raj kachori. And the mouth-watering munchies include plain cheese, plain paneer, capsicum cheese grill, corn cheese grill, veg paneer grill and Bugle Bites special. The place also serves fruit munchies like banana grill, apple cheese grill and pineapple grill.

“Coming from North India, I was having a difficult time staying in this part of the City which seldom has any good North Indian snacks and chaats joint. Though this place offers a limited range of items, it has fulfilled the void in this area to a great extent. I visit this place at least thrice a week to have samosa and other chaat items. Even the raj kachori, dahiwalla and capsicum cheese grills are excellent,” says Arpita Gaur, an IT professional. For details, call 9945544093.
