Apathy mars Malagaru SC colony

As many as 20 agriculture labourers family reside in the colony which is situated amidst forest. The road leading to the colony is filled with potholes and is unmotorable. There are no transport facility to the colony. Even the private vehicles refuse to travel to the colony.

The residents have to struggle to take patients to the hospital without means of transportation.

The residents do not get water round the year.

They are forced to drink water from the contaminated pond. The children have to walk for four kilometres to the school.

The lower primary school building was repaired recently. However, owing to the poor quality of work, the building has started leaking. The roof of the building has been covered with plastic cover to avoid the leakage. As many as 10 houses do not have toilets in the colony. Toilets were constructed for two houses from the government aid.

The colony residents have to visit Lokanathapura for hospital and get ration from PDS.

Lokanathapura is situated four kilometres from the colony. The colony do not have streetlights.

Many houses are yet to get title deeds. The Gram Panchayat has not given financial assistance for a house which is on the verge of collapse. The colony residents have urged the officials to respond to their demands.
