According to police, the accused have been identified as Pinneswamy of Hundipura village and Gopa of Booradarehundi village. Acting on a tip-off, a police team led by Circle Inspector Jayakumar and SI Deepak approached the duo in the guise of traders.
The deal was struck for Rs 3 lakh and an advance of Rs one lakh amount was paid. As the accused brought the tiger’s pelt to a particular spot near ITI College on Mysore-Nilgiri Road, the police who were waiting there caught hold of the duo and seized the pelt.
