Judicial probe sought in lynching case

Last Updated 12 August 2011, 19:22 IST

Speaking to mediapersons after visiting the two villages on Friday, Parameshwara blamed the failure of the BJP government for the incident.

He said various leaders have been visiting the villages and attempting to instil courage in the residents. “But no leader from the State government has bothered so far to come to the villages,” he added with dissent.

“The residents in more than 15 villages here are struggling to get food and other facilities. Meanwhile, however, the BJP government is too involved in sharing power to bother about the problems,” he criticised.

Legislator Dr M C Sudhakar disapproved of the violent incident. “But it is greater injustice to use the excuse of the lynching to arrest innocent people,” he said and advised the residents of the villages to ignore gossip and continue living peacefully.

Congress district unit president M Anjanappa, former member of Legislative Council K V Subbareddy were present.
