Khan virtually appealed to the electorate to support Congress nominee Noor Bano, albeit indirectly. The firebrand Muslim SP leader has said that supporting Jayaprada would be akin to supporting the RSS and Kalyan Singh. Khan made it clear that he would not leave the SP. He admitted that he was approached by the Congress.
