Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda will call for meetings and hold discussions with the officers from 24 different departments on August 16, 17 and 18.

The meetings will be held to discuss the shortcomings in various departments and find out ways to improve the prevailing problems.

Informing the same to the mediapersons in Dharmasthala on Saturday, the Chief Minister said that the policies must be made simple enough to make them understandable to the public.

“During my tenure, I would work on simplification of the existing laws and policies for the benefit of the public. As far as criticisms from the Opposition parties are concerned, I am open to them. I will not respond to criticisms at the moment, but I will show it in the form of work. Wait for a month for the results,” he said.

He was in Dharmasthala to offer ‘Vishesha Pooje’ (special pooja) to Lord Manjunatha. The chief minister later held a talk with Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade.
Earlier in the day, the chief minister was given a rousing welcome at the Mangalore airport.

State tour

Speaking to mediapersons in Mangalore, he said he will tour the entire State, starting from Dakshina Kannada, as it was the people of the district who helped him achieve success in his life.

“It was here I learnt discipline and hardwork from the Sangh Parivar at Sanghanikethan,” he added.

CM’s temple tour

D V Sadananda Gowda visited four temples on Saturday and will be visiting four more on Sunday to seek divine blessings, before leaving for Bangalore.

On Saturday, the chief minister visited Dharmasthala Sri Manjunatheshwara temple, followed by Sri Rama temple in Kanyadi, located a few km away from Dharmasthala.

Later in the evening, he visited the Kukke Sri Subrahmanya temple and Sri Mahalingeshwara temple in Puttur. He is scheduled to visit Kadri temple, Gokarnanatheshwara temple and Guruvana Sri Kshetra in Mangalore on Sunday early morning. He will also visit Kateel Sri Durgaparameshwari temple the same day in the afternoon.

Cabinet expansion soon

Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda said that another round of Cabinet expansion will be held soon.

Speaking to presspersons at the Mangalore airport during his maiden visit to the district after taking charge as the Chief Minister, he said the Cabinet will be expanded after holding discussions with party leaders.

“There were confusions in the last Cabinet expansion. The BJP state in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan will visit the State on August 15. Discussions will be held with State BJP President K S Eshwarappa, Jagadish Shettar and R Ashoka too,” he said.

When asked on his plans to contest as MLA next, he said he has still not decided from where he would contest, as there is time for it. He promised to give a new dimension to the development of the State, and said that the State is currently second in India when it comes to development, and he aims to take it to the top position.
