On Metro's media ban, CM seeks a week

Last Updated 15 August 2011, 19:15 IST

“...Give me a week’s time, I’ll get back to you,” Sadananda Gowda, who fumed on Sunday when he heard about the notice, said on Monday.

On Sunday, Gowda had said: “This is the first time I’m hearing it. I will take up the matter first thing tomorrow (Monday) afternoon with the MD and get back to you.”

However, with the chief minister now having gone back on his word and having sought a week’s time, BMRCL continues to prevent media from bringing out the real picture to the people.

The spokesperson of the BMRCL remained unavailable even on Monday. Readers of Deccan Herald wrote to their disapproval of the attitude of Metro officials and wanted greater media oversight of the inner city railway.

One said: “It should also be remembered that during the ongoing construction of the Metro Rail, there were a number of accidents due to the callous attitude of the officials present then, where a number of vehicles were damaged too.”
