'Hurdles in land acquisition delays housing'

The minister, who was in the City to attend a private function, said addressing mediapersons in the City: “ We are not responsible for the delay in constructing houses. We shall begin the work as soon as we acquire the land for the same without any hassles.”

The BJP is a national party and has several seasoned leaders who are capable of facing any challenge. The team of Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, leaders B S Yeddyurappa, K S Eshwarappa and others can efficiently resolve any problem that might arise, he added.

He further said there was no dissent with regard to Koppal by-election. The forthcoming elections will be fought after taking all the party leaders and activists into confidence.

“Every one of us shall strive for the party’s victory in the elections” he siad. However, when asked about former health minister B Sriramulu’s resignation, the Housing Minister said: “Let us not jump into conclusions. All shall be set right in the party and there shall be no problems in the future.”

On infrastructure facilities in the district, the minister said despite Chikkaballapur being close to the State capital it is underdeveloped and suffers from dearth of basic amenities. Thus, there is an urgent need to create infrastructure facilities in the district.

Deputy Commissioner Dr N Manjula, legislator K P Bacheg­owda, BJP leaders G H Nagaraj, K Narayanappa and others were present at the press conference.
