Three arrested for selling deer meat

The accused have been identified as Palaniswamy, Venkatesh and Rangaswamy. Another accused, Muniswamy alias Kariya is absconding. One motorcycle and three mobile phones were seized from the trio.

Acting on a tip-off, a team led by Kollegal deputy conservator of forests Javed Mumtaz and consisting of range forest officer Ashok Kumar, Shankar, Madanmohan, Sundar, Bojappa, Salan, Anantharamu, Sridhar Murthy, Manju, Shivu, Chidananda, Vishakanta, Mahananda, Biradar, Prassanna and Prabhuswamy arrested the trio when  they were trying to sell the meat at a house in Shagyam village.

A case has been registered and Hanuru range forest officer is investigating.
