Yeddyurappa had filed the anticpatory bail plea following a private complaint filed by JD(S) leader Y S V Datta alleging irregularities in awarding contracts for works in the Upper Bhadra Project.

The court adjourned the case, after the counsel for Yeddyruappa sought three days’ time.

The case filed by Datta pertains to the preferential awarding of work orders for the Upper Bhadra Project to a joint venture company of RNS Infrastructure Limited and Jyothi Limited which quoted exorbitant amount of Rs 1,033 crore for executing the project.

In return, the joint venture company is said to have paid Rs 13 crore to Dhavalagiri Properties and Sahyadri Care and Diagnostics Private Limited, owned by Yeddyurappa’s sons and son-in-law.
