Also, for a politician who used to heli-hop for his journeys to Hyderabad, Bangalore, Ananthapur, Tirupati, Hubli and Gadag, the six-hour journey in car was indeed after a long time and an agonising one.

The dress code was the same as the one he wore whenever he went for public functions at the time he was a minister in the Yeddyurappa government.

Reddy has always been known for his ever-smiling face, sartorial elegance, short temper and not allowing others have their say. Reddy got ready in his tip-top style, after his daily chores and a bath, when he was told about the impending journey to Hyderabad. From his residence, ‘Kuteera,’ he was taken to the house of Srinivas Reddy, his distant relative, in the opposite lane.

The former minister was questioned there too, before both of them were taken to Hyderabad. Reddy threw a glance at the photographers who had assembled there and tried to cover his face with his hand on the pretext of pointing to something.

Away from public glare

Janardhana Reddy was away from public gare for some time, after losing ministership. But, he was seen at the Independence Day celebrations on August 15 at the district stadium, along with MLAs B Sriramulu, Somashekara Reddy and MP J Shantha. He had also held a press conference. He had refrained from talking politics at that time.

He had held several meetings with regard to Sriramulu’s resignation as MLA, but had kept away from the media.
